Something not working, or a scan that looks wrong? Send us the details and we'll help.
Quick fixes
- Scan didn't recognize my item. Retake the photo in even light with the whole item in frame, and include the model label if there is one.
- The estimate looks too high or too low. Adjust the condition, then compare against recent sold listings. Estimates are a starting point, not an appraisal.
- Camera won't open. Enable camera access for Legacy Inventory in your iPhone's Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera.
- I want my data deleted. Email us from the address on your account and we'll remove it.
Common questions
- What is Legacy Inventory?
- Legacy Inventory is a mobile app that uses AI to help you identify items from a photo, estimate what they might be worth on the resale market, and generate a marketplace-ready title and description. It's built for anyone who wants to sell things without researching each item one at a time. Currently available on iOS; Android is coming soon.
- How does Legacy Inventory identify items?
- You point your camera at an item and take a photo. The app analyzes the item's visible appearance — shape, branding, labels, materials, and any text it can read — along with details you add, and suggests the most likely product, brand, model, and category.
- Can Legacy Inventory tell me what an item is worth?
- It gives you an AI-powered estimated market range rather than a single fixed number, because used items rarely have one correct price. Use the range as a research starting point, then set your own price.
- How accurate are Legacy Inventory's price estimates?
- Accuracy varies by item. Common, well-documented products like electronics and popular sneakers tend to be easier to estimate than rare, custom, or antique pieces. Estimates are not appraisals, and AI results can contain errors — always sanity-check against current comparable listings before pricing something valuable.
- Can I use Legacy Inventory to sell things online?
- Yes. Legacy Inventory helps you prepare what a listing needs — identification, a suggested price range, a title, and a description. You then use that content on whichever marketplace you prefer.
- Does Legacy Inventory create marketplace listings?
- It generates listing content — title, description, category, and a suggested price — that you can review, edit, and post yourself. You stay in control of what actually gets published.
